The "New" White House – What is Obama Style?
Modern Traditional. A style combination rarely discussed but always at the forefront of great interior design. A few days ago I was watching a documentary on the interiors of the White House. It featured an in-depth interview with First Lady Laura Bush. First Lady Bush told of the tradition and history that lay within the interiors of the White House. I learned that all Presidents and their First Ladies leave their mark on the White House, be it in the form of a room makeover, a new furniture addition, or something as small as a reupholstering a sofa. Then I thought to myself, “What will it be like when the Obamas apply their personal style to the interiors of the White House?” Hmmmm. Well, I think it might look something like the images found below. Not to say the Obamas even like Modern Traditional or that they would like anything I suggest as far as interior design — but a boy can dream can’t he?
