Albuquerque, New Mexico: Full of Crafts, Nice People & Spirits

I wasn’t sure I was going to write about this, but how
could I not?  After completing almost 900 miles since leaving California, we had
our first night’s stay in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  From the moment we arrived,
everything seemed a little off…

Part of saving money on this trip meant booking our lodging
remotely (i.e. not getting to see the place in person beforehand.)  Case in point:  this Days Inn. We arrived late at night and had planned to jump in the
shower and hit the sheets. I had
to use the bathroom, bad.  When I was
done, I flushed the toilet, and it would not stop running.  It was loud and must
have went on for almost 10 minutes.  I decided to fix it (‘cuz that’s what I do, I fix things). I opened the back
of the toilet and saw the
chain needed to be let down.  I really didn’t want to put my hand in this
foreign toilet, so I went to look for something to use instead of my hand. Upon my return only two minutes later, the toilet had fixed itself.  Magically. This was
just the beginning.

As Keisha lay in bed and I uploaded images for the blog, I kept seeing shadows in the reflection of my computer screen and in the
room’s corners. I spotted these same shadow movements on the ceiling even when I went to bed – strange.  What in
the world was going on?  I dismissed it, thinking that I was just tired and my eyes were playing
tricks on me.  Even so, I
did not sleep well at all.

Here is the kicker.  The next morning, I’m awakened to a SCREAM from Keisha that we have to get up and leave.  NOW!  She was dead serious. She told me that during
the night, she could feel someone looking over her in her bed, and she could feel
the impression of their weight on her mattress. WOW! During her
experience, she said that she could hear and see me, but could not move or talk.  She was frozen, paralyzed. We could not have gotten away from that Days Inn Albuquerque
fast enough!  There’s no doubt in our minds we had stayed in a haunted hotel.  Whether they were friendly ghosts or not so much, we didn’t stick around to ask!

I couldn’t make this stuff up if I tried. Hello Albuquerque, New Mexico!
